About
About MoodWeather
MoodWeather started from a small, familiar problem: you have a free evening or a slow afternoon, you want to do something with it — watch a film, put on music, cook, get out of the house — and you can't decide what. The weather has already shaped your mood whether you've noticed or not, so why not let it help you choose?
The idea is simple. Tell us how you're feeling, and we look at the real weather where you are right now — sun, rain, cloud, snow, fog — and suggest things that fit both. A bright morning and a happy mood get a different soundtrack than a grey afternoon and a flat one. It's a small nudge towards a better-spent few hours.
What you'll find here
Alongside the live recommendation tool on the homepage, we publish guides for specific situations — what to watch on a rainy day, cosy things to do on a snowy night, calming music for an anxious evening, and plenty more. Each one is written to be genuinely useful for that exact moment, not padded out to fill space.
How the weather works
We use a free, open weather service to read current conditions for your location, which you can share via your browser or by searching for your city. We don't store your location, and you can use the whole site without sharing it — there's always a sensible default. The recommendations themselves are curated by us, not generated from your personal data.
Who makes it
MoodWeather is an independent site run by a small team who like films, music, food, and weather a little too much. If you have a suggestion, a recommendation we've missed, or just want to say hello, we'd love to hear from you via our contact page.
