MoodWeather · moodweather.net/mood-tracker/ · Reflection tool, not a diagnosis.
A useful 30-second routine
- Check in at roughly the same point of the day.
- Record what is true, not what you think should be true.
- Use one precise word and a quick energy rating.
- Add context only when it is genuinely useful.
- Review a week at a time without scoring yourself.
Consistency is more useful than frequent checking. One daily entry is enough for many people, and skipping a day does not spoil the record.
What to track—and what to leave out
A small, stable set of fields is easier to review than a long questionnaire. Mood word and energy are the core. Weather, sleep, outside time and social context can add perspective, but they are optional. This tracker deliberately avoids clinical scores, medication fields and diagnostic labels.
Review patterns without inventing causes
Look for recurring contexts, not verdicts. “Low energy appeared on four busy days” is a description. “Busy days caused my mood” is a much stronger claim that the entries cannot prove. The same caution applies to weather and mood: location, sleep, plans and chance may produce the same pattern.
Privacy and control
Entries are stored in localStorage on this device. MoodWeather does not receive them. Export creates a CSV download on your device; Print can also save the blank template as a PDF. Clearing browser storage can remove entries, so export anything you want to keep. The Delete all control removes the local record after confirmation.
What this tracker cannot do
This is a non-clinical reflection tool. It does not diagnose anxiety, depression, seasonal affective disorder or any other condition. If changes in mood are persistent, distressing or interfere with daily life, consider speaking with a qualified health professional regardless of what the chart shows.
After a check-in, you can browse ideas by mood, choose music for the moment, try an activity for a restless day or make a gentler Sunday-evening plan.
Frequently asked questions
Is my mood tracker private?
Yes. Entries stay in local storage on the current device unless you deliberately export them. Clearing browser storage may remove them.
How often should I track my mood?
Once a day is enough for many people. Consistency is more useful than frequent checking.
Can I print or export my tracker?
Yes. Use Print to print the blank monthly layout or save it as a PDF, and Export CSV to download your saved entries.
Can this tracker diagnose anxiety or depression?
No. It is a non-clinical reflection tool and does not provide a diagnosis or medical assessment.
